The computational modeling core will utilize concepts and results from all projects, but particularly the animal models to derive biologically plausible, detailed circuit models of thalamocortical interactions. These models will deepen our understanding of the cellular mechanisms underlying thalamocortical interactions and provide models for the human thalamus, including possible pathophysiological mechanisms in schizophrenia.
