Zhe Sage Chen, Ph.D.
Chen is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Neuroscience and Physiology, Biomedical Engineering at New York University. As a computational neuroscientist and electrical engineer, my current research focuses on developing novel computational and statistical methods to analyze neural and behavioral data of animals and humans, developing mechanistic models for brain circuits and behavior, and investigating the causal link between neural circuits and behavior. My laboratory is devoted to basic and translational research in computational neuroscience, neural engineering, machine learning, brain-machine interfaces, and computational psychiatry, studying fundamental questions related to memory and sleep, nociception and pain, and cognitive control. Chen has collaborated with many experimental neuroscientists and published extensively on these topics.
